Workflow: The plan is to arrive Friday in time for dinner at the Bunkhouse. We will start work by 9 am Saturday & Sunday. TPWD has approved the installation of viewing blinds, natural perching features, and a solar-powered watering source that will draw birds, insects, pollinators and other wildlife. Weather: Low in the mid 30’s, high in the 60’s. Can be colder or warmer. Might rain, might not. Could be windy. Could be calm. Be prepared!
Recommended Apparel & Equipment: Required Equipment: Personal hydration device (pack, bottle, cup), hat, sunglasses. Please plan to drink plenty of water during the weekend to avoid dehydration. Recommended Equipment: Recommended you bring your own gloves. A sample packing list will be provided @ 10 days in advance of the weekend.
Transportation: Ride share if possible. Big Bend Ranch State park Sauceda Headquarters access road is accessible by 2 wheel drive vehicle, however high clearance and 4-wheel drive vehicles are strongly recommended. Be sure you have a spare and know how to use it. Fill your fuel tank in Presidio prior to entering the park. Carry water.

Lodging & Camping: Volunteers will stay in the Sauceda Bunkhouse or may camp in the park nearby. Bunkhouse lodging is included in registration fee. Campground sites in Big Bend Ranch State Park can be reserved through TPWD: https://tpwd.texas.gov/business/park_reservations/
Meals & Snacks: Dinner Friday through Lunch Sunday + snacks will be provided for a nominal fee. Bunkhouse accommodations are provided with registration fee. Let us know if you prefer to camp. If you have a special dietary need discuss it with Leslie. We'll try to work with you, but you might need to do your own meals. Cooking facilities will be available.
