2018 Big Bend Ultra Trail Run Bike Patrol Safety Volunteers

Without volunteers working before, during and after the Big Bend Ultra Sunday, January 14th, 2018 (MLK Weekend) Overland Race Management would not be able to produce this outstanding FUNdraiser to benefit Compadres del Rancho Grande, the friends group for Big Bend Ranch State Park. Volunteers support the Fresno Creek 50K, Quicksilver 30K & Rock Dog 10K by setting up the course, checking runners in and out, providing an encouraging and enthusiastic presence on the course and by hosting aid stations distributed at intervals located throughout beautiful locations in the park.

What to expect:

Weather: Low in the mid 30’s, high in the 60’s. Can be colder or warmer. Might rain, might not. Could be windy. Could be calm. Be prepared!

Assignments: www.bigbend50.com registration page indicates volunteer session timeframes where you can indicate your availability for pre-, during and post-event duty. You can also indicate a duty preference (or no preference).

The volunteer coordinator for each duty area (Runner Check In, First Aid, Bike Patrol, Aid Stations, Start/Finish Line, etc.) will follow up with you prior and after the activity according to your indicated preference. If you are unable to fulfill a duty, please notify the coordinator ASAP. If it is possible for you to recruit a replacement, that helps greatly. If you have any other questions, contact Leslie Hopper. hopper@parkfriends.org.
