The Big Bend Ultra is a competitive trail run open to novice and professional athletes alike. Sponsored by Compadres del Rancho Grande to benefit the Big Bend Ranch State Park Complex, the Big Bend Ultra offers chip-timed 10K, 30K, 50K, and 50M courses through BBRSP’s challenging topography and inspiring landscape.
The event is held over Martin Luther King Jr. Day Weekend in January. For details and to register or volunteer, click here:
VOLUNTEERS make it happen! Compadres volunteers set up the courses, check in runners, host aid stations and many, many other critical tasks. To volunteer, visit the Big Bend 50 website and click on the Volunteers tab.
BIKE VOLUNTEERS on the courses! If you love mountain biking and are self-sufficient on your bike, we need your help to set up and tear down the course, help with safety, and have a great time in the park, contact Charlie Angell at www.AngellExpeditions.com Note that this requires a long day on a bike, and the skills to change your own flat etc. but it's very rewarding to hang all day with like minded runners and cyclists in the park.
