The Big Bend 50 is a competitive trail run open to novice and professional athletes alike. The Big Bend Ultra offers chip-timed 10K, 30K, 50K, and 50M courses for runners who want to take on the trails through BBRSP’s challenging topography and inspiring landscape.

The event is held over Martin Luther King Jr. Day Weekend in January and benefits Compadres del Rancho Grande

VOLUNTEERS
Without volunteers working before, during, and after the event would not be the outstanding fundraiser to benefit Compadres del Rancho Grande that it is!

Volunteers support the race by setting up the courses, checking runners in and out, providing an encouraging and enthusiastic presence on the course and by hosting aid stations throughout beautiful locations in the park. To volunteer, visit the Big Bend 50 website and under the volunteers tab, there is additional information.

BIKE VOLUNTEERS
If you love mountain biking and can be self sufficient on your bike as well as help set up and tear down the course, help with safety, and generally have a great time in the park, contact Charlie Angell at www.AngellExpeditions.com Note that this requires a long day on a bike, and the skills to change your own flat etc. but it's very rewarding to hang all day with like minded runners and cyclists in the park.
